Michael H. Burnside. President and CEO

Michael (“Mike”) H. Burnside is president and chief executive officer of Catchlight Energy LLC. He has held this position since the venture was formed in February 2008.

Prior to Catchlight Energy, Mike worked 33 years for Chevron and held a variety of assignments in manufacturing, planning and analysis, and finance functions, most recently as project manager to establish the biofuels joint venture, and prior to that role, as Americas regional manager for Chevron Oronite Company with responsibility for additive manufacturing and supply operations in the U.S., Brazil and Mexico.

In 1974, he joined Standard Oil Company of California – Western Operations Inc. where he held various engineering and operations positions.

A native of Baltimore, Md., Burnside received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business administration from California State University.

Maro Imirzian. Vice President, Finance

Maro Imirzian is vice president of finance for Catchlight Energy LLC, responsible for finance and administration of the company. She has held this position since April 2008.

Prior to joining Catchlight Energy, Maro worked for Weyerhaeuser Company. She joined the company in 1988 and held a variety of assignments in investment analysis, finance, start up of a joint venture paper company, and manufacturing operations. Most recently she was controller of enterprise strategy and alignment.

Before joining Weyerhaeuser Maro managed timberland for International Paper Company and was a management consultant for Cresap, McCormick, and Paget, now part of Towers Perrin. She received a bachelor of science in Forestry from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University.

Maro is a member of the Society of American Foresters.

Paul Spindler. General Manager, Technology

Paul joined the Catchlight Energy team in May 2008, where he holds the position of General Manager, Technology.

Prior to Catchlight Energy, Paul was General Manager of Manufacturing for a fast-growing, global specialty chemical company, and was Vice President of Engineering and Technology for a chemical technology start-up company. Prior to these assignments, Paul spent 23 years at Chevron in various technology, chemical and refining roles in California, Texas and Oklahoma. In these assignments, he led and built organizations, developed and commercialized novel processes and product technologies, licensed technology, and designed and operated manufacturing facilities.

Paul is a resident of Katy, Texas, in suburban Houston. He is active in a variety of civic and community volunteer activities through his church. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, fishing and walking.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University, where he graduated with distinction.
